What is the hilum of the lung?

It is the indentation on the left lung created by the position of the heart. It is the pointed superior portion of the lung located near the clavicle. It is the region on the medial surface where the bronchi, blood vessels, and nerves enter and exit the lung. It is the concave inferior surface of the lung that rests on the diaphragm.
