How do cortical nephrons differ from juxtamedullary nephrons in their structural organization?

Cortical nephrons have short nephron loops that barely penetrate the medulla whereas juxtamedullary nephrons have long loops that extend to the renal papilla. Cortical nephrons lack a distal convoluted tubule whereas juxtamedullary nephrons possess a complete set of tubular segments. Cortical nephrons have fenestrated glomerular capillaries whereas juxtamedullary nephrons have continuous capillaries. Cortical nephrons are surrounded exclusively by vasa recta whereas juxtamedullary nephrons are surrounded only by peritubular capillaries.
